    Michael’s verdicts and settlements have been featured in local and national publications. Michael’s settlement of $11,000,000.00 for the family of a woman who died while detained at the DuPage County Jail was featured in the Chicago Tribune and is the highest reported settlement for wrongful death in jail in DuPage County. Michael’s verdict of $5,005,000.00 in a disputed medical negligence case involving a 78-year-old client who suffered muscle and nerve damage during a hip replacement surgery was featured in TopVerdict as one of the Top 10 Personal Injury Verdicts in Illinois and one of the Top 100 Medical Malpractice Verdicts in the United States.  Michael’s verdict of $1,752,479.00, involving a 34-year-old woman who suffered a back injury requiring microdiscectomy surgery from being struck by a drunk driver, was featured in the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and is the highest reported jury verdict in Kane County for an auto case since 2012.  Michael’s verdict of $1,363,000.00 for a woman who suffered a nerve injury from a root canal procedure is the second highest reported verdict in a dental negligence case in Illinois and was featured in the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin. Michael was also featured in the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin regarding a $1,190,000.00 verdict for a woman who suffered a dislocated shoulder and rotator cuff tear from tripping on falling on a coiled extension cord in front of a doorway, an $805,258.00 jury verdict in a disputed case involving an injured postal worker, a $2,225,000.00 settlement for a mover who suffered a crushing injury to his arm, and a $3,500,000.00 million settlement for a woman who suffered a delay in diagnosis of breast cancer. Michael was featured in the nationally-circulated Trial Magazine regarding a $977,000.00 jury verdict obtained in a highly disputed case involving a plumber who slipped on ice at a renovation project and suffered a fractured leg.

    Michael’s experience, work ethic, and capability to relate to his clients and their families make him an exceptionally effective advocate. Michael’s success is built upon his compassion and his belief that every person deserves dignity and respect. Due to his experience and successes in representing his clients, Michael has been selected as an Illinois Super Lawyer and Rising Star in every year since 2016, a distinction limited to only the top 2.5% of lawyers in Illinois.     Michael focuses his practice on personal injury, wrongful death, products liability, worker’s compensation, vehicular negligence, construction negligence, premises liability, medical negligence, commercial trucking accidents and toxic tort cases. In addition to his legal practice, Michael also volunteers on the Ambassador Board of the Franciscan Outreach Shelter for the homeless, and with Chicago Volunteer Legal Services, providing legal help to low-income individuals.

    Michael lives in Chicago with his wife and three children. Michael graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a minor in Pre-Law. Michael received his law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he graduated with High Honors. Michael was inducted into the Order of the Coif and received the CALI Award for the highest grade in Trial Advocacy, Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure I and II and Legal Writing. Michael also competed in Chicago-Kent’s Moot Court Honor Society where he was awarded the Edmund Burke Scholarship for Outstanding Oral Advocacy. Michael is also a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice.
